Maude-Aimee Le Blanc happy to become LPGA star
Maude-Aimee Le Blanc is happy that she has been able to achieve her goal of playing on a professional tour.
Le Blanc, who belongs to Quebec, Canada, had been seeking to find a spot in the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour. Now that she is a regular Tour player, she is focusing on her game with full commitment.
Le Blanc played the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup 2012 as her first LPGA tournament.
Speaking to the media in her latest interview, Le Blanc said that she is thrilled about playing along with big names like the current world number one Yani Tseng and Suzann Pettersen.
The ambitious star said that she knows that playing on the LPGA Tour is a full-time job, but she is trying to pay attention to her game.
When Le Blanc set foot on the Wildfire Golf Club, JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, Phoenix, she was a bit nervous — something analysts pointed out on the first day of the Founders Cup 2012.
Sharing her feelings about her debut match on the LPGA, the Canadian prodigy said that she still has a long way to go, as her game demands plenty of hard work.
She kicked off the Founders Cup with plenty of confidence. She carded a 72 in the first round. The thrilled golfer stunned her fans when she posted her first birdie on the par-5 second hole.
Le Blanc said that she is more than happy to come face-to-face with players she admired all her life.
"It's very exciting. I feel very confident. My game has been pretty good lately but, of course, there's a little anxiety, a little nervousness, because there is a cut after the second round and I'm not used to that kind of pressure yet,” she said.
She added that she is regularly playing practice round on the range, and once she has enough confidence, the game will get much easier.
The rising star has been focusing on her swing and putting. "I pretty much focused on everything," she said. "I've worked on the full swing, but mostly the short game and putting. I've been struggling with my putting stroke the last few years".
