Maureens Mystery in lead of the lineup of Owners’ Bonus Series – Final on 20th February
The Grade A2, £500 Owners’ Bonus Series – Final is to be hosted by Romford on Monday, 20th February. The 400 metre race will be contested by six hounds that will battle for reaching the wire first.
Maureens Mystery, Collision’s three-year-old black son out of b***h Deneview, is trained by D. Mullins and possesses what it takes to get through the wire before getting intimidated by any of the other hounds.
Maureens Mystery has already penetrated into the 2012 season but could not post a victory from the first four starts. It took him the fifth attempt to get a win credited against his name.
He won the third heat of the Grade A2 Owners’ Bonus Series at Romford on 15th February. It was raced over 400 metre and took Maureens Mystery 24.33 seconds to reach the other end of the wire.
Precious Pet was the 7/4 favourite for the race and finished fifth on a field of six racing.
If his sixth chance would enable him to post further victories or not will become apparent soon.
Possible competition for the field will be presented by the four-year-old black dog, Strath Beag trained by J. Reynolds. He very recently posted his seasonal debut victory on 15th February in the Owners’ Bonus Series – Heat 2. Strath Beag raced through the 400 metre distance in 24.48 seconds.
Bonville Karter, the 5/2 favourite of the race finished third behind the winner.
It was during the eighth attempt in the 2012 season that Strath Beag was able to claim a race. He struck second position for straight three times from 21st January to 1st February 2012 and the worst that came his way were two fourth slots when he raced for the sixth and seventh time.
Your The Tops is the four-year-old black dog trained by D Mullins. He gave in his seasonal debut on the same date as Strath Beag, 15th February. He won the Grade A2 Owners’ Bonus Series – Heat 1 at Romford which was raced over 400 metres.
His last nine starts deprived him of victory as he struggled to stabilize his rankings which ranged between third and sixth.
Rest on the lineup includes Paradisus Time, Bag Of Sand and Bantiss Bonville.
