The Palermo patron has conceded that the player would be fined a hefty fine; however he stated that the midfielder was not the initiator but he was instigated.
Maurizio Zamparini has stated that his club will come hard on any individual, who disobeys the club’s policies.
The Rosanero patron insisted that discipline is one of the most sensitive issues in his eyes. However, he also suggested that the other party was at fault, and it took two to tango.
The incident took place in the Serie A clash between the Rosanero and Lecce, and during the match an altercation occurred between Nicolas Bertolo and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gennaro-Delvecchio-c14524. Bertolo consequently head-butted the
opposition player, and with the referee witnessing this action nearby, he promptly issued a red card for the midfielder.
The chief also stated that the player needs to understand his actions more, and stated that he should not act so irrationally, and he would be handed a fine. He further commented:
“Bertolo will be fined €30,000, he must learn from his mistakes. However, I do not understand why there has been all this attention around him.”
The Aquile President reiterated that the actions of his team’s players were not justified. Despite saying that, he wanted to shed light on the need to find the instigator and point him out too. He mentioned
that he would have done the same had he been in Bertolo’s shoes, and added:
“It is true that he was wrong, but why are we not talking about Delvecchio? He was the provocateur and aimed a blow at our player, who then lost his head. I must be honest, even I can lose my head and make
a mistake if someone hits me.”
Palermo are currently sitting in the tenth position of the Serie A table and the point did not do much to change their league standing. The only goals of the game came within the first 15 minutes of the match.
