Mauro Rosales cements his place in Seattle Sounders FC starting line-up – MLS News
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Seattle-Sounders-FC-c40474 on October 15, after recovering from a sprain to his medial collateral ligament.
He entered the pitch in the 64th minute and had created Sammy Ochoa’s equalizer against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/San-Jose-Earthquakes-c40434 18 minutes later.
The Sounders eventually won the last home game 2-1 at the CenturyLink Park. Rosales reminded, yet again, why he has been nominated for the Most Valuable Player of the season award. With 13 assists and 5 valuable points from 25 appearances this year, the
player has certainly been in some form.
Against the Quakes, Rosales received the ball at the half-line and dribbled forward, cutting through the opposition defence until he found Ochoa in the penalty area. Ochoa received Rosales’ inch-perfect pass and scooped it over goalkeeper with his first
touch into the back of the net.
His presence on the left-wing was immensely missed during his days of recovery. In his absence, the Sounders leaked 5 goals that originated from the left side. The player proved his versatility by moving forward into the offensive third while tracking back
in time to help out his teammate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tyson-Wahl-c35653, in the left-back position.
“He just provides something on the wing,” Sounders midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Evans-c7952 said. “He draws fouls, he whips in balls. Something we didn’t have was service from the wing. So from the wing, that’s what you want, you want service into the box.
The player admitted that he still feels the pain and it will take some time for him to reach peak fitness.
“It’s felling better,” he said. “It’s not a sharp pain. We’re still in the time where we are recovering. The doctors told me that I’m not going to play without pain for a few weeks. I don’t want it to get worse, but I need to be the best I can for the playoffs.”
The player is hoping for the nagging pain to wears off before his side play the Rave Green in the postseason. The Sounders have qualified for the third playoffs in a row since their inception to MLS in 2009.
