The Inter Milan winger has not had the best of times at the San Siro, and has failed to cement his place in the team, mentioning his interest in a return to Lazio.
The attack-minded player has been criticised for not being able to contribute to the Nerazzurri cause. Zarate was expected to make a big impact following
his move to San Siro. However, his inability to do so has left him down the pecking order in the Beneamata line up.
His inactivity at the Giuseppe Meazza outfit has had a toll on the striker and he has stated on his keenness to return to the Biancocelesti. The loan move
was prompted after the Argentine had a falling out with Lazio manager, Edy Reja. The loan move gives an option to the Nerazzurri to buy the Argentinean player by the end of the season. However, it remains to be seen whether Inter Milan would be willing to
exercise this option.
The former Birmingham City player has previously spoken of his interest of leaving the San Siro giants for other pastures. He has been quoted on the social
networking website, Twitter, to have mentioned that things were over for him at Inter.
His brother-agent was giving an interview to Radio Mana Mana, in which he remarked:
"Right now, it is hard to say what Zarate's future will be like. Mauro still loves the city of Rome, as well as Lazio and their fans. Everything is
in Inter's hands, but if they do not decide to exercise their buying option, Mauro would be happy to return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Zarate further mentioned the reasons behind his brother’s move away from the Biancocelesti in the first place, reflecting on the strained relations
between the player and the manager. He commented;
"If there had not been some misunderstandings with coach Edy Reja, he never would have left.”
Despite Zarate’s discontent with his current employers, his agent went onto state that Mauro would wait and see how things unfold, and further remarked:
"This is why the prospect of a return to Lazio would be welcome, but we will respect what http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 decide to do."
Mauro Zarate has failed to find the back of the net in his 14 games for the Beneamata.
