Mausoleum of the Emperor - Both players can Normal Summon or Set monsters without Tribute(s) by paying 1000 Life Points x the number of monsters needed to Tribute Summon them.

if i use mausoleum of the emperor to summon raiza storm monarch, will i be able to use its effect?

  1. Yes, your still tributing its just not a monster. For an example if you use Soul Exchange it tributes their monster instead of yours and still gets the effect. It's not negating the effect of the monster, you are just paying Life Points instead of monsters.


  2. Here is one of the card rulings for "Mausoleum of the Emperor":

    "A monster Normal Summoned with the effect of "Mausoleum of the Emperor" is NOT Tribute Summoned. So if you pay 1000 Life Points and Normal Summon "Zaborg the Thunder Monarch", its effect will not activate."

    Therefore, if you summon "Raiza the Storm Monarch" via the effect of "Mausoleum of the Emperor", you cannot activate the effect of "Raiza the Storm Monarch".

  3. no, because you didn't tribute summon it.

    the cost to use that effect is you have to tribute. raiza doesn't say

    normal summon.
