  1. Muay Thai..... literally Thai Boxing and also known as The Art of the Eight Limbs.

  2. I use a modified teep when I fight Muay Thai.  I studied TKD and kickboxing before Muay Thai, so I have a habit of throwing a front kick as more of a strike / body blow than the "pushing / off-balancing" style used by traditional Muay Thai guys.

Most of the guys in my Muay Thai class absorb the teep - they lean into it, expecting a push, so they counter by using a deep stance and pushing back against it.  I throw it with more of an upward snap, and it works like an uppercut to the body - and lands most of the time because most people don't really guard a teep.

The only time I get in real trouble with it is in MMA / Vale Tudo - a good grappler will get that heel a lot of times, and I have to scramble.  In those instances I like to fake a teep or front kick to lower my opponent's guard - then go in with high punches or plum clinch.

  3. I don't use the 'teep,' per se. However, I often employ lead leg front kicks. The difference is that I chamber my leg for the strikes.

I find that it is most successful in jamming an opponent as he tries to come in. That, or as a leading attack if he's focused on my hands, since I slide in with the kick.
