Mavericks to face tough competition against the unbeaten Celtics tonight
Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks will come face to face tonight at American Airlines Center, Dallas, TX at 8:30 pm.
Boston Celtics remain unbeaten up till now. They maintain a high profile as the title contenders of NBA. They have maintained their constant graph so far and seem to be very proud about it. Dallas Mavericks know that they will have to face a very tough competition in facing the Celtics.
After Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen joined the Celtics in 2007, the Celtics have been blessed with miraculous progress. They won the title three years ago and since then they have set off on a road that has been leading them to one win after the other.
Kevin Garnett plays power forward for the Celtics and maintains a high profile. Garnett used to play for the Minnesota Timberwolves and played with them for 12 seasons. After that he was traded in to the Celtics team where he is still rocking.
We should not forget here that the Boston Celtics lost seven straight games before winning the previous three. Allen has been successful in averaging 20.7 points for the Celtics in those games. Dirk Nowitzi has an average of 29 points, and 10.7 rebounds in the games they lost. The 32 year old 7 feet tall German used to play for the Milwaukee Bucks but was traded to the Mavericks and now he plays power forward for that team. He has the speed and size to play other front court positions like center and small forward as well.
Shawn Marion is an important player playing for the Mavericks. He is also nick named as the Matrix for his bionic athleticism. He is capable of taking many positions and is a very versatile player. Brendan Haywood is another player playing for the Mavericks who along with Marion scored 22 points while playing against the Los Angeles Clippers on Oct 31, 2010. This was the 13th victory that they scored against the Clippers 99-83.
On the other hand, Boston Celtics have players like Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo who have been constantly adding points to the score board of their teams.
The Celtics also have rookies like Semih Erden who know how to take lead of the match. While playing against Oklahoma City Thunders last night, Erden scored nine points and grasped four rebounds for the Celtics.
Tyson Chandler who is playing center for the Dallas Mavericks said, “The Celtics have been together for a while.” He also said, “They've played at the highest level and that's what we're trying to accomplish. We definitely need to come in focused for that game and treat it as big as it's gonna be.”
The Mavericks are well aware about the tough game that they have coming up tonight. Shawn Morison mentioned this when he said, “We've got a tough game coming up on Monday against Boston.” He also said, “They're playing well, too. I know it's early, but we've got to control certain things on the floor. We've got to help each other and get it done.”
Despite all the games that they have played before, it's hard to predict who is going to emerge triumphant tonight.
