Mavic or fulcrum?

im looking at mavic cosmic carbone SL wheels and fulcrum Racing Speed wheels for my current road bicycle? which should i go with?

My wrench friend doesn't like it when the wheel companies mix metal with carbon because it's not a good mix of materials and doesn't last. I would trust the name Mavic more. I've ridden Mavic's and when you go past 20 MPH it's like you have another gear. Propulsion what a feeling!
