I know what your thinking yeah right...., but seriously what do you think will happen? When Avery Johnson came we got 60 wins. When rick went to Indiana for first time they got 61 wins. So isn't it destined that the Mavericks get at least get 60 wins? We were first in the western conference before the Jason Kidd trade, and I think we can do it again.

Here's a list of games we lost to teams above .500 after the Jason Kidd trade:

New Orleans-lost by 11-defense couldn't stop chandler or paul

San Antonio -lost by 3

Lakers-lost by 4

Utah-lost by 4

Houston-lost by 15- No nowitzki(suspension)

Lakers-lost by 2

Boston-lost by 4

San Antonio-lost by 7-Nowitzki was injured

Denver-lost by 13-no nowitzki

Golden State-lost by 10-no nowitzki

Lakers-lost by 4-

Portland-lost by 3

All those games(excluding the first game against New Orleans and when we didn't have nowitzki) we lost by 5-6 points. All those losses could've been prevented if we had more interior defense. Dampier could do good but we didn't have anyone backing him up. For Example when Dampier would try to stop Chandler in the playoffs ; he could only do it only for so long. And when he was on the bench we had to have B. Bass on him in his place to let chandler beat up on him. But that wasn't fair 6'8 to7'1.Now that we have diop I know he can help dampier... a lot. And now since we have diop we are either equal or taller in the 4 and 5. Look even though we didn't have diop I'm sure we would've beat teams like SA(up by 7 in 3rd before Dirk was injured) ,Houston, Denver, and definitely Golden State. In fact we beat Utah and New Orleans at home in the regular season. Think how much better we would have done with diop? My predictions is we at least get to semis. And all you haters out there this is the truth, and don't deny it. Especially all you Lakers and Boston fans.

  1. naw try 40 wins they gettin older and older as the days go on.

  2. I don't know, it's hard to say after how close of a season this past one was.  If they don't get 60, they will be close (assuming no big injuries take place).

  3. 60 wins for Dallas is a bit of stretch.  I might agree with you if you think Dallas can get 54 wins.

  4. Sorry, but Dallas is not going to make the playoffs.

Your right, a few tweaks in their lineup and they could have beat the teams (when healthy). But Dallas has done nothing this offseason to fix those problems, other than adding Diop. Dallas will barely win 50 games. Why? First of all, they're getting older every year. Jason Kidd won't be a factor, he's out of his prime. Second, the team can't play defense. Even when Diop was on the team, they did nothing to stop the Warriors in the 06-07 playoffs, and Warriors defense wasn't good at the time so they didn't have enough offense. Dallas defenitely has talent, but team chemistry is off. They won't make the playoffs.

    Dallas Record: 45-37

  5. hahahah Yeah freaking right. First of all, the "team leader" dirk is a softie and cant lead a team. The their next go to guy, josh howard, is too busy thinking about weed all day long. there is no way mavs will win 60 games. they will be 4th in the division after the rockets hornets and spurs. And thaat jason kidd trade will prove to be a failure. It was a desperate try to win now but its too late. GO ROCKETS!

  6. hopefully rick brings in a much needed half court system, which in my opinion he will.

im also hoping green can be of some help with his athleticism, and diop would really help our much needed dept at the 5.

60 is pushing it, especially since the league has gotten tougher and many teams have gotten stronger.  i do believe that they will be better and do better next year than they have in the previous 2.

  7. In your dreams

the west is too much for the mavs

  8. yes hopefully

  9. sorry to say but no

  10. I wouldnt bet against it cause they got one of the most talented rosters in NBA but I dont see it happening.

  11. hay i am a HUGE laker fan but also a realist. i dont see them winning that many games only because the western conference only gets better and by getting j.kidd ( who is very talented) AND firing Avery Johnson it didnt leave much room for improvement. I see them placing between 4-6 in the westen conference before a 7game first round exit or 5 game 2nd round exit. They are not mentally tough enough to compete strong in the west. Dirk has what it takes but it takes more that just him... Like im a huge laker fan... this year many lakers had a killer instinct but not all which is why we didnt get it done.. all 15 players need the killer instinct. only about 5 mavericks have the mental toughness and that wont get it done in the west. especially with the lakers, Spurs and dont forget Ron Artest going to Houston and the Hornets.. its gonna be an interesting season and i cant wait!!!!

  12. No they lost their good coach. They aint gonna do well this year. Sorry

  13. The Lakers won the west last year with 57 wins.  I think the #1 seed will probably finish somewhere close to that number.  I don't really see the Mavs finishing 1st this year.  Most likely they'll be between the 4-8 seed, behind the Lakers, Rockets, Jazz, and Hornets.  I see the Mavs as a team on the decline, not on the rise.  If I were to guess, I'd say they might win between 47-52 games next year.  I don't think you are right, but it's good to have high hopes.

  14. with J Kidd they might lose 61
