Mavs the next Lakers?

Question

Everyone thought the Lakers would repeat the 7th seed, but the next year they have a 14 game improvement and a trip to the nba finals. I don't think the Mavs will be No.1,but I do think they can repeat something close to the Lakers. In almost all positions the Lakers and Mavs are almost the same age and skill excluding kobe. You think the Mavs can pull it off?

well the lakers had a vastly improved andrew bynum and when he got hurt they got another all star in gasol. dallas didnt make any moves like that and i dont see anyone on that roster making the kind of improvements that bynum did. if dallas makes the playoffs, theyre a 6th seed at best.

I'm not sure. The Mavs need a shooting guard who can shoot the spot up jumper and a center who can bully players in the paint.  Josh Howard has been inconsistent in the playoffs, and we don't if Carlise can lead the team to success.

The Lakers are a really young team.

i allso aggre with mike the mavs SUCK! when the lakers get bynum back they will win a chapionship lakers all the way

yup the mavs can definitely pull it off.  they didn't make it to the finals and won 67 games by luck.  Before they made it to the finals i remember they were eliminated from the first round and then the next year made the finals.   with a full training camp for kidd and a new coach it'll make a difference.  Changing a point guard in the middle of the season isn't easy no matter who you are, It takes time things to settle in.
