Max Baer vs Earnie Shavers. Who wins?

Question

Dream fight and 15 rounds in their prime. Somehow I don't believe this is going to a decision.

Easier than you might think.  Some people tend to think that everyone who was ever champion can beat everyone who never won the title.  I'll give you a short list of champions then give you a short list of contenders, each of whom would beat every champion on my list.

Max was a banger.  Ernie was a bigger banger.  Neither had anything that resembles footwork.   Ernie would be able to take Max's shots.   Max would fold under Ernie's power.

My trainer always used to say that if Max Baer had of taken fighting serious and not be such a playboy he could have been one of the greatest. His power and chin were undoubtable but half his fights he came into the ring with a hangover! lol. And still won, so just imagine if he put aside the woman and drink and concentrated on his fighting. His crushings of Schmeling and Carnera were brutal, but his losses to Braddock and Louis were ugly.

''The Acorn'' Earnie Shavers was without question one of if not THE hardest punchers in boxing history. Slow as a snail with limited stamina and a weak chin, but if he nailed u it was bye bye. Ali said he was never hit so hard and he should know a thing or 2 about punchers. Shavers knocked out Jimmy Ellis, Jimmy Young and Ken Norton all in the 1st round. But he himself was kayoed by Ron Lyle and Jerry Quarry.

Both had excellent right hands, were slow but when they had an opponent hurt there was no mercy.

In a war which I think it would have been I would give Baer the win by kayo within 8 rounds.

IMO, Baer wins the battle of the right hand bombers. That is of course that "Ole" Maxie takes the bout somewhat seriously and goes to work with no joking around. Shavers could be bombed out early and Max had the power to do it. A war, but remember the bombs that Max took from Joe Louis. I feel that Max outlasts Shavers in this one.

shavers is the hardest hitter in the history of boxing (arguably), and baer is a puncher too.

for the most part, shavers failed to win the big ones, so on that basis i pick baer to stop shavers in 8 rounds.........however, if quarry could stop him in 1............!!!!

If Quarry could KO Shavers, then Max could too.  I give the edge to Baer, but one thing is certain, this one isn't going the distance.
