The Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director has insisted that the club is keen on offering the defender a new contract before the season ends.
Foals’ defender, Dante, has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window. The Brazilian’s future has been under widespread speculation for the past few months as there have been reports that he
has declined a new deal to stay at Borussia Park.
Gladbach cannot afford any more player departures as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Reus-c23733 and Roman Neustaedter have already agreed to leave the club at the end of the term for Borussia Dortmund and Schalke respectively.
Club sporting director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Max-c24993 Eberl, claimed that he has been in contact with the player and his advisors in the past few weeks. He admitted that the side is confident that the defender will agree to stay at the club and insisted
that the negotiations are heading in the right direction.
Eberl added Dante is a very important role at the Borussia Monchengladbach and the club is not willing to let its key players leave considering they will be playing UEFA Champions League football next season.
“I can report from our talks with Dante and his advisors and we have been in close contact for a long time now. We want to extend Dante's contract and we are heading in the right direction to achieve something big and therefore
be able to offer http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dante-c10236 sporting potential. Dante is an important player in our side,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Dante insisted that he is willing to assess all options and stated that he will make a decision when the season ends. He played down rumours that money is a factor that is delaying his decision.
“If it was only down to money, then I would move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991. I have good contacts over there. But now is not the time to talk about what happens in the summer,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich have been facing problems at the back as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Van-Buyten-c10095 and Jerome Boateng have been inconsistent in the heart of defence this season.
