Max Hall passes tests and is cleared to practice
The Arizona Cardinals got some good news when quarterback Max Hall passed his neurological tests on Tuesday, 26 October. He was cleared to resume practicing, as the team prepares to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
Cardinals head coach Mike Whisenhunt made it clear that the rookie quarterback would be the starting if he was cleared by doctors to play.
"We can't make too much of what happened yesterday. He's a rookie quarterback. We can't lose sight of that. You know that you're going to have some things that you have to go through the first time. This is his first start on the road in a tough environment,
and it didn't go very well. But what I've seen of Max, he'll bounce back and he'll improve."
Hall was knocked out of last week's game against the Seattle Seahawks in the third quarter after getting sacked by defensive end Chris Clemons. Hall was hit on his blind side and was not allowed to return to the game. Derek Anderson took over as the Cardinals
lost 22-10.
It's been a rocky season for the Cardinals so far. Despite their 3-3 record they've been outscored by opponents 160-98. Only the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars have worse points differentials.
After Derek Anderson started the season at quarterback for the Cardinals, Max Hall was given the start in week five after a couple of shaky performances from Anderson.
Hall was victorious in his first game as the Cardinals upset the defending Super Bowl champions, the New Orleans Saints, with a score of 30-20.
Although he has only started two games and only played in one full game, Hall's numbers aren't exactly stellar, as he has yet to throw a touchdown, but has thrown three interceptions.
