Max Mosley believes his time in Formula 1 is over
There were a lot of rumours stating that former FIA president Max Mosley might return to the sport but in a different position this time. Bernie Ecclestone also stated that he would love to see the former president return to the sport as a “new person.”
However, Max denied these rumours and stated that his time in the sport is pretty much done.
The FIA CEO has a great amount of friendship with the former president and wanted to work with his friend once again. He claimed it to be “nice having him back” according to the 80-year-old Formula 1 supremo.
“I suppose we could go back and Max could be president of the FIA and Jean could be president of FISA, running the sporting side," said Ecclestone.
It seems that there are just a few people in this world who have the power to work until the day they die. It requires a lot of determination and possibly, more than any normal human has ever experienced. Mosley stated that he does not have the power to
return back.
“I think my F1 days are finished and I've moved on to other things. One should never go back. It's completely a rumour. It's a nice idea and very friendly to say 'come back' but the truth of the matter is it wouldn't be the right thing to do,” Mosley told
the media on a radio show.
It seemed that Max retired out of the FIA on his own will rather than someone forcing him to quit. He supported the former Ferrari boss Jean Todt as much as he could and does not regret his decision. The former president ended his 16-year-old reign as the
president as he turned 70 last year.
“I pushed very strongly for Jean and I think he'll get the job done, and I want him to succeed because I'm responsible in part for him being there. The last thing really I would want to do is interfere with what he is doing now,” he added.
Mosley believes that Jean Todt is quite an old member of the Formula 1 family and he was the most deserving person for the position. But Max cleared the fact that he will not return to the sport again or at least, any time soon.
