Rockstar has released three hardware breakdowns, each catering to certain level of performance on PCs. It seems that a wide range of PCs will be able to run the latest in the slow-mo third-person shooter.
Rockstar seem to have kept accessibility to the PC build of their critically acclaimed third-person shooter as a major priority as they have tested the game on a number of different rigs and set a minimum, modest and optimal specification list for Max Payne 3.
Or as Rockstar put it, "As you can see from the specs list, we've worked hard to make sure the game will run smoothly on a wide range of PC builds."
The statement also pointed out that the game performed much better the closer one’s set up was to the ‘Highest Tested Specs’ list. It read: "But it's when you get towards the top end of that range that you can really push a game to its limits, and the game will look and run incredibly on the most advanced current machines around at the moment and well into the near future,"
The lowest specifications will need gamers to have Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit) with any dual core running at at least 2.4 GHZ with a 2GB RAM and either an NVIDIA GeForce or AMD RADEON HD graphics card with at least 512MB of memory.
That is the bare minimum needed to run the game, where as the highest settings would require games to have either a 32 or 64 bit Windows 7/Vista with an Intel i7 3930K 6 Core x 3.06 GHZ or its AMD equivalent FX8150 8 Core x 3.6 GHZ. 16GB of System RAM would also be require with an NVIDA GeForce GTX 680 2GB RAM graphics card or the AMD Radeon HD 7970 3GB RAM card.
To cap everything off gamers will need to allocate 35 GB of their Hard Disk Drive for the game and all of its files. It should also be noted that the specifications mentioned above are the minimum and ‘highest’ specifications for the game and that anything in between will more than suffice.
