It seems that the United Kingdom prefers stealth and tactics to all out Hollywood styled gun blazing as Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier retains the number one spot on the charts.
The weekly sales charts are in for the United Kingdom and it makes for more of the same in terms of the top three positions while there have been a number of changes elsewhere.
DiRT Showdown manages to hold on to a spot in the top 10 as the spin-off brings a dose of adrenaline packed racing and mischief into the arcade racing genre. Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is another title that has been in the charts for
as long as memory serves and it shows no signs of slowing down in terms of sales.
FIFA Street, a title that has spent a majority of its time in the charts in the top three spots finally falls down to number eight, as its flamboyance and flair begin to wane on everyone.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is also managing to sell a fair share of copies as it recovers from its recent slump in sales while Game of Thrones has fan boys the world over spending their money on the video game adaptation of the popular television series
and novels.
Sniper Elite V2 is still up there in the top five as it manages to grow its fan base considerably, while Battlefield 3 has seen a surge in sales in the past week as it leapfrogs above the competition and into fourth place.
FIFA 12 is still going strong and is in the top three as it continues to provide the most immersive football simulation experience on the market.
Max Payne 3 continues to dominate the runner’s up position as it just cannot seem to find the momentum to break Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’s runaway sale’s train. The latter has been praised for bringing the Ghost Recon series back to its full glory and
apart from boasting stunning visuals it’s also has four-player co-op.
It will be interesting to see if Ghost Recon can make it four weeks in the top spot or whether Max Payne can finally take the top spot for its own.
