The Computerandvideogames review of Rockstar’s Max Payne 3 is out and according to them the game ticks all the boxes one would want in the game but it does not have the trademark Max Payne feel.
Rockstar decided to bring one of video game’s most bada** protagonists back for a third round when they announced that they were working on Max Payne 3 for the current generation of consoles. The studio may have thought that the time was right to reintroduce
a character whose thirst for vengeance matches that of Kratos from the God of War games, or it could be down to the fact that Rockstar wanted to get rid of the bad taste left in everyone’s mouth after Hollywood decided to make a horrendous movie adaptation
based on the game.
However, the game is currently in the hand of various review sites and computerandvideogames.com one of the first to post their review of the game.
According to the site, Max Payne is an all out shooting-action-gore fest. The website wrote, “By the time we’d finished Max Payne 3, we’d killed over 1400 people. From start to finish the game is a violent tornado of death and destruction, and one of the
bloodiest, more relentless shooters ever.”
Quite a claim to make with other games such as Dead Space and the Darkness II serving up plenty of gore among a barrage of bullets and plasma energy.
The website went to state that although the game was polished and full of flair, it was “missing some of the surreal magic that made the original games so memorable.”
CVG gave it an 8 out of 10.
VideoGamer and GamesTM both agreed with CVG and awarded Max Payne 3 the same score as well. It was also the lowest score that the game has been awarded with GameReacter, IGN and StrategyInformer giving it a 9 out of 10.
X360A gave the game a 93 out of 100 while 1UP graded Max Payne 3 with an A-.
As for the rest of the review scores that have been released thus far, it seems that GamesRadar and G4 both think that Max Payne 3 is nothing short of perfect and have awarded the game a perfect score of 10 out of 10.
