With both Diablo III and May Payne 3 on the charts in the previous week it all came down to which game sold more copies in the United Kingdom.
Another seven days have blown, died and cast spells on their way by and it leaves everyone with plenty to talk about as to the complexion of the software sales charts in the United Kingdom that has seen a complete change in the top three spots.
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games manages to hold on to a spot in the top 10 and is perhaps one of the most resilient titles in the charts. Ezio Auditore’s swansong manages to regain a place in the top 10 as it manages to synchronise itself
into ninth place.
Battlefield 3 continues itself with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, however, the latter manages to come out on top for the previous week after spending a considerable amount of time below their resurgent counterparts.
Prototype 2’s vengeance and destruction still seems to appeal to the masses of gamers in the UK, although the release of both Diablo III and Max Payne 3 meant that the game has to settle for a place outside the top five for this week as it finishes in sixth
place.
FIFA 12 sees itself out of the top four for the first time in ages as the football simulation title has to settle for fifth place as it loses out to Sniper Elite V2 in the charts.
FIFA Street manages to hold on to a place in the top three as gamers flock in their thousands to get their hands on both Diablo III and Max Payne 3. The question on everyone’s mind has to be which game finished top of the charts?
The answer, Diablo III fell short of the number one spot by a margin of 8000 units sold as Max Payne 3 slow-motioned dived his way into first spot in spectacular fashion, shooting down everyone else in the charts while doing so.
It seems that the devil is not immune to bullets, however, it will be interesting to see if the charts stay the same next week or if the Diablo rises to consume everything in flames.
