Max Scherzer climbs to 14th season win as Detroit Tigers obliterate Chicago White Sox 18-2

Max Scherzer put in a brilliant performance to get his 14th season win as the Detroit Tigers humiliated Chicago White Sox 18-2 on Sunday, September 4 at Comerica Park, Detroit.
Things could not have gone better for Max Scherzer. The Detroit Tigers pitcher was on the mark against the Chicago White Sox. The hurler was up against Mark Buehrle on the other end, but it did not matter, as Scherzer had a strong support roster on his side.
The Detroit hitters packed a powerful punch to land the opposition on their back.
Scherzer picked up the game without giving away a run. He allowed six hits but they never amounted to anything serious. He struck-out six players and ended his session with seven innings. At the end of the day, his ERA was 4.33. The figure was fairly reduced
while Buehrle’s statistical standing pummeled with seven earned runs.
The Detroit pitcher had a few comments to share about his performance, so far.
"I think I located my slider as well as I have done all year," Scherzer suggested. "Even when we got a big lead I still had to make my pitches and throw some off-speed pitches. I was able to finish my pitches better as well."
Scherzer now has 14 wins and eight losses to his name. If the Tigers move on to the post season, they will need the ace hurler in top form. The ball thrower had been hot on the opposition’s tail and he was caught warming up in the fifth inning. Fortunately
for him the game went entirely in favour of the Tigers.
"It was one of those days where we got all the breaks in the world," he said.
The Tigers look set to reign supreme in the American League Central. The side will most likely be taking Scherzer in to the playoffs. The squad is full of confidence at the moment and with a strong hitting base, there is a good show expected this season.
There may be a good chance to see the club in the World Series.
For now, the fans are more interested in seeing their team top of the League. With more than 20 games remaining, no one is taking a risk in calling them a post season contender.
