Could someone please confirm what is the maximum supported hard disk size for Windows ME? I had heard it was 120 GB, but wasn't completely sure.

  1. Well it's not that the OS dictates how many GB you should have in your HD it's what the HD configuration WinME can recognize and your computer configuration as well (what kind of HD the mother board can handle, the amount of RAM memory etc.) in this case I think it's only something between 40 and 80GB, but you can always try it out and see what happen, :) good luck!.

  2. Windows Millenium uses fat16 or fat 32 disk formatting. Fat 32 can go up to 127 GB. You can use disks larger than a 120 GB by partitioning them with the Fdisk program on your Windows Millenium startup disk. I was using a 160 GB drive on Windows Millenium, split into 2 partitions.

  3. No there is no such limit, provided you use the NTFS format. Check out the website also.
