for the ongoing 2011/12 Barclays Premier League.
The club have been very active in the last two transfer windows and have spent over £100 million to sign new players.

Rodriquez, who had a mixed last season, was not even named in 15-man squad in Liverpool’s opening day fixture against Sunderland. Instead, Kenny Dalglish opted to Anfield debuts to four of his new players.
However, the former Atletico Madrid midfielder believes that intense competition within the squad will work in favour of Liverpool this season. Rodriquez has hailed Liverpool’s outstanding work in the current transfer window and has insisted that new players
have really boosted the quality and depth of the Reds’ squad.
Rodriquez told the reporters, “Competition for places is always a positive thing for the club and I think it's great that the signings who have arrived are of such high quality with a great level of skills and technique.”
The Argentinean international believes that new signings will give Kenny Dalglish more options to choose the squad and Rodriquez is hopeful to be a part of his manager’s plans this season.
"It means the manager has to decide what he thinks is his best 11 but that is something he will decide and we will all be hoping we are in it,” Rodriquez added.
The 30-year-old midfielder has welcomed new players and has asserted that new boys are settling in well at Anfield.
"It's always nice to welcome new faces to the club and you always go out of your way to make them feel as comfortable as possible. They are settling in well," Maxi Rodriguez concluded.
