Maxim Kanunnikov explains reasons behind FC Tom Tomsk failures in the Russian Premier League
Zenit St. Petersburg striker Maxim Kanunnikov, who is currently on loan at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Tom-Tomsk-c39228, has shared his thoughts on the decline of his club and insisted that there is still time left to alter the situation at the Trud stadium.
The promising striker revealed that the recent results of the Asians have been unsatisfactory and that the players need to work harder in order to get their team out of the drop zone. With just four games left in the season, Tomsk are currently at the bottom
of the league table.
“We cannot afford to relax. With each round we are getting lower and lower but I believe there is still time to fix it. If we work hard, everything is possible. We must forget about the standings and do our work for our survival.” The Russian Cup winner
was quoted as saying.
Tom Tomsk have slipped to the bottom of the table after the departure of former manager, Valeri Nepomniachi. The former head coach had resigned saying that the club is in desperate need of change in management.

Kanunnikov revealed that Nepomniachi took all the blame for their sloppy performances and wished him success in his future. The Russian striker highlighted that the arrival of Sergei Perednya as their new head coach has influenced the team’s mood in the
dressing room and they still believe they can avoid playing in the Russian First Division next season.
The 20-year-old admitted that the team needs to be more focused in the remaining matches of the season. Kanunnikov highlighted that the manager has spotted some mistakes during the latest league encounter against Rubin Kazan and they are going to work on
them during the international break.
