Maxim Mikhaylov makes it to the VolleyWorld – Volleyball news
The latest online version of the official magazine of Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB), the VolleyWorld, has featured an exclusive article on Russia’s top gun Maxim Mikhaylov.
The 23-year-old Kuzmolovskiy, Leningrad Oblast native is one of the most impressive players in Russian men’s national volleyball team. A feature on him in the VolleyWorld, which is bimonthly FIVB magazine, has promptly grabbed the attention of volleyball
fans all over the world. The online version of VolleyWorld is available in several languages of the world.
Currently, the English, Russian, French, Arabic, and Portuguese versions are obtainable on the internet. The Spanish version is on its way to be launched very soon. The magazine has off-the-hook news about players, teams and development activities in the
field of volleyball.
In addition to many other interesting and fascinating stories in the VolleyWorld, the feature on Maxim Mikhaylov has immensely increased the number of readers of the magazine. Mikhaylov has a whole repertoire of achievements but most recently, he proved
his game skills at the 2011 FIVB World Cup, which was held in Japan. The VolleyWorld has emphasized on his skills as an individual player and also as a team-member.
Mikhaylov led Russia to gold medal victory in the shoes of captain at the FIVB World Cup. He was also named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament. Furthermore, he did exceptionally well at the domestic level. He totally deserved to be featured
in the bumper edition of the VolleyWorld.
Mikhaylov expressed much delight about new-found fame via FIVB magazine. He expressed his emotions in the following manner, “To be honest it’s the first time I’ve experienced being the focus of so much public and media attention. Generally speaking people
love volleyball back home and it gets decent coverage.”
However, he quickly deflected the attention on himself and praised his team mates. He also credited his success to the team work. In this connection, he commented, “Volleyball is about the team and the collective efforts. I do not think about the individual
but the other players as well. You have to see the flow of the game and play to the strengths of your team mates.”
