The 23-year-old Frenchman has just completed his first full season at the club and when asked by Le Progres, the defensive midfielder expressed his satisfaction at how the season went for him.
Gonalons says that the season has helped him develop a lot and also admitted that he has gained a lot of experience by playing with the senior players.
According to Gonalons, playing with senior players on a regular basis has allowed him to take more responsibility and he now looks to push the younger players at the club.
Throughout the campaign, Gonalons had been linked with a move away from Stade de Gerland. The likes of Italian Serie A giants, Juventus and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 have been monitoring his progress for quite some time but the France international says that he has a contract
with the club and he has no reason to leave the club even though things can change quickly in football.
“I am under contract until 2016, I am at home and I play, so there is no reason to want to leave, even though everyone knows that in football, anything can happen.”
Gonalons is hopeful of becoming more consistent in his performances in order to once again open doors to the France national side. Laurent Blanc did not name the midfielder in Les Bleus squad playing at the Euros but Gonalons says that though he is disappointed,
he will work harder than before as there is a lot of competition for places.
“The Euros? I had a small chance to participate. But it’s still a little disappointing. It’s a choice of the coach and we must accept it. There are many players in my position, it is my hope to make a return.”
If he becomes more consisted for OL next season, Gonalons will have a great chance of playing for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 on a more regular basis.
