The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 youngster is about to start his third season with the first-team and feels that he has learned a lot during his two-year stay with the senior side
Last season, Olympique Lyonnais coach, Remi Garde put all of his faith on the youngsters at the Tola Vologe. The likes of Samuel Umtiti, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexandre-Lacazette-c4895 and Clement Grenier were given a lot of chances to impress.
Though all these youngsters have impressed a lot, the standard set by Maxime Gonalons is yet to be met by any of the young and upcoming players. Gonalons has made a great start to his pro-career. Although he was introduced to the senior side by Claude Puel,
the 23-year-old was regularly used by his predecessor throughout the course of the 2011/2012 campaign.
With a lot still to learn, Gonalons’ performances have not gone unnoticed as he has attracted clubs from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.
Les Gones are in great need of extra cash but Remi Garde is unlikely to let a player of Gonalons’ talent leave Stade de Gerland so easily. And, the player is also not looking to abandon ship.
While talking to media, the midfielder said that he has a contract with the club and he owes Lyon a lot to leave so soon. The youngster feels that he has made a lot of progress in the past few months and is also keen on becoming a regular for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899
team.
“I have a contract until 2016. I’m fine here. I want to give something back to the club that trained me. I do not see far. I was able to play for France here. It’s pretty good as I’m competing with the best French players at the moment.”
Though Gonalons is ambitious like any player, he admits that there could be several departures from the team this summer. However, the player is not dazed by this. Though http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408 may leave the club this summer, Gonalons feels that there are several good
shot-stoppers in the team, who can replace the France international.
“We know very well that there will be arrivals and departures, but that doesn’t change anything. If http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-c16384, who is one of the 3 or 4 best keepers in the world, goes, it will be annoying, but I think we have the means to replace him, even internally where we
have great keepers.”
Certainly, Gonalons won’t be lured away from Stade de Gerland, not at least this summer.
