Maximilian Oswald claims Boys 50m freestyle gold: Day five – European Junior Swimming Championships
Maximilian Oswald of Germany claimed gold medal of the Boys 50m freestyle in the age group of 17-18 years old on fifth day of the 2012 European Junior Swimming Championships in Antwerp, Belgium on Sunday, July 8.
Oswald experienced strong resistance from his fellow swimmers throughout the discipline and sprinted his way towards the finishing end for gold medal.
He dictated terms to his challengers throughout the discipline and hit the finishing blockade for gold medal with the timing of 22.62 seconds.
His gold winning effort remained 0.06 seconds away from his subsequent swimmer, Volodymyr Suschyk of Ukraine, who touched the finishing end for silver medal with the timing of 22.68 seconds.
The second position holder was chased by Tim-Thorben Suck of Germany, who stayed 0.16 seconds apart and tapped the finishing end for bronze medal of the discipline with the timing of 22.84 seconds.
Fourth position of the discipline was secured by Benjamin Proud of Great Britain, who stayed only 0.04 seconds behind and finished his race with an effort of 22.88 seconds.
Similarly, the British swimmer was chased by Mihael Vukic of Croatia, who stayed 0.07 seconds apart and settled on the wall as fifth position holder by clocking a time of 22.95 seconds.
Vukic was chased by Alexey Amosov of Russia, who suffered a loss of only 0.01 seconds from his former finisher and ended his swim in sixth best place by submitting a time of 22.96 seconds.
Seventh position of the event was secured by Bogdan Plavin of Ukraine, who stayed 0.10 seconds apart and reported a time of 23.06 seconds.
Plavin was chased by Anze Tavcar of Slovenia, who obtained eighth fastest spot of the race by producing a time of 23.07 seconds.
Tavcar remained 0.06 seconds ahead of Niksa Stojkovski of Croatia, who finished his swim in ninth best place by posting 23.13 seconds.
Tenth finest spot of the race was secured by Giuseppe Guttuso of Italy, who completed his race with an effort of 23.20 seconds.
Furthermore, Oswald aroused expectations of his followers by saying that he would try to do the same at senior levels of swimming.
