I set my own record this morning, and it's 3! Looks like me and that train were chasing each other :)

  1. 4 times. I left work and it was there moving slowly too, it must have been a mile long I went towrad home and had to cross the same track stuck again forever. Then went to the grocery store and when I got to the street its on the same train again. I even told my wife I could guess what kind of car the last one was.  Tanker car in case you wanted to know.

  2. I had to laugh when I saw your post here. This morning I was assembling a train in our switching yard. There's a sand and gravel quarry near by. About three months out of the year, there are dump trucks going to and from the quarry. A dump truck came up out of the quarry and had to stop as I stopped the train on the crossing. He turned to go about half a mile down to another crossing. My Brakeman, who knew nothing of this, said over the radio to back up to a standing string of cars. When I backed up, I blocked the second crossing. Here comes the dump truck back up my way again. The Brakeman says, "Take it ahead". LOL. I said I had to wait a minute first. I let the truck cross before I moved the train.

  3. wow that's pretty cool

    you are good

most trains only stop people once.

    high 5 :-)

in Montana most trucks have a rifle or two in the back window, I try very hard not to block crossings unnecessarily.

  4. thankfully just 3, but it was a long cargo train
