May Be Some Time, the most likely winner of Epsom’s BF Wines Handicap
Stuart Kittow’s 4-year-old speedy runner, May Be Some Time, looks quite solid, and is hot favourite for the BF Wines Handicap, taking place at Epsom on Monday, August 27, 2012.
Owned by Dr. G. S. Plastow, the gelding earns our support following his two fantastic performances. He was triumphant on his previous visit here last month, when seizing the first rank by one and a quarter lengths in the class 4 Try totequickpick If You're
Feeling Lucky Handicap.
After grabbing a cosy success, he did not let things slip out of his hands at Leicester, where he was second to Mayo Lad in the Book Your Christmas Party At Leicester Handicap. In the hands of Fergus Sweeney, the 9-4 chance could not make an impressive finish
and as a result, missed the crown only by half a length.
By just glancing at May Be Some Time’s recent stats, one will easily realise why he should be given respect in today’s 1m114y event. The class 4 contest has attracted nine runners, who will come out on the track in search of a cash prize worth £5,175. The
proceedings are due to be kicked off at 17:25 GMT.
Copperwood has a fine track record with Mark Johnston, as he has won five handicaps since joining this yard early this year. Owned by Always Trying Partnership VIII (E), the 7-year-old lost his momentum after a close triumph at Newmarket at the end of last
month.
The son of Bahamian Bounty was third in a tough competition at Musselburgh, before he ended up fifth at Southwell in mid August. His track record is good enough to show his ability to make a strong return to the winning ways. So, it is hard to discard his
chances in today’s meeting.
Whitby Jet’s last two outings were below best. Mountrath was well beaten on last three turf starts, which has to be a huge worry.
According to our calculations, May Be Some Time is in the best position to notch up the first rank. Copperwood can do the next best. No one else is likely to do something special. Good luck to all the runners.
