  1. Just want to agree with my fellow Countrymen. Great game and no shame in being runner up to an Irish team that I have a small wager on to win the 6N`s this year.

Yes we should have had a Penalty Try and Ireland shouldn't have had a Try awarded, but it wouldn't have changed the outcome.

Always a pleasure to play the Paddies, home or away.

    Come on you Celts!

Oh and in answer to Arcadia`s comment, of course we would.

One of the great things about not being English is you can support anybody who happens to be playing England.

Nothing wrong with a bit of friendly rivalry is there?

Cheers everyone out there in Rugby-land. Cant wait for the next few weeks.

  2. I'm not Irish, but I am an avid supporter of the Irish team, being a Munster fan. It was a fantastic game to watch yesterday, though I do concede that the Welsh really should have been awarded a penalty try. Anyone would have thought that Wilkinson had made that illegal tackle, for all that the ref was blind to it!

I've got everything crossed for the Irish grand slam, but with O'Driscoll  injured, and O'Gara not up to his usual kicking standard, they may have it tougher than they expect. The Welsh certainly made them work jolly hard for that win!

Your question proves that Rugby fans are indeed the most sporting supporters in the world. Cheers!...

  3. to answer your question -

yes you may congratulate the Gallant Irish for their victory on Sunday - I'm sure it will be well received.

  4. Of course, if it was England who beat you  yesterday in the same circumstances, you'd be calling them a bunch of lucky ******.

  5. Yes i agree. WHALES only won the six nations last year because the other teams were weakened, NOT because whales were any good! It makes a change not to here a welshman going on about Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey and there only bit of glory! COME ON ENGLAND!!!

  6. I, a Welsh woman, agree. It was a great game to watch - shame Checkai (sorry, can't remember how to spell his name) was taken off the ball for a sure try - that may well have turned the game around. But I can't deny Ireland played extremely well and I do hope they get a Grand Slam under their belt because they surely deserve one. This 'all hail the return of Johnny' bull exrement will surely cease after Ireland (and Wales!!!) have stomped him into the ground!

What did you think of the Welsh performance? I thought we did pretty well but the inexperience in the wings and backs showed.

I think it might have been a different game if we'd had Alfie and Shane Williams on the pitch.

Cymru am byth - but go our Celtic cousins too!!!

  7. May I as an Irishman thank my Welsh brothers for their magnanimous and generous comments. It was a fantastic game in which the sheer spirit shown by both teams more than compensated for any lack of polish.Let's remember that it was an opening match. Don't worry. A good windy day will sort Wilko out (God willing!!)

    Go raibh maith agaibh!

  8. go on ireland!!!

  9. Go raibh mile maibh agaibh! - A thousand thank you's..

It is really nice to read your comments about the game.. I can only imagine the comments from the ENGLISH FANS IF WE MANAGE TO BEAT THEM!!

It was a great game to watch & a brilliant display of sportsmanship from both sides. The Welch team did do themselves proud on sunday.. Congrats to all of you..

    Once again... Thank you..

  10. Yea course, iechyd da pawb Iwerddon.

However, I don't know what the Irish were doing in the scrum. I'm 100% sure they were doing the old 'push and pull'. Every scrum wheeled, killing the ball, giving them time.

James Hook dropped a bollok though didn't he - it was from his letting the ball get into touch that allowed a score, although Czechaj was unlucky to lose out on a penalty try.

Thought sometimes the Welsh defense showed gaping holes -  over the last couple of years I think the Welsh defense has been solid, (until 2002, all we ever did was defend) but there was a lot of occasions on Sunday where the Irish broke through. Some Welsh tackles were half-hearted too, I just hope they can sort it out soon.

Not happy with man of the match though - wouldn't have gone for JW, it's not all about who scores the most points.

    Totally dissatisfied with the ref.

  11. All this for a squashed ball?

  12. Cheers, mate. A good game but Ireland need to concentrate a bit more if they are to beat the French.

We (the Irish) are in a good position at the minute, thanks to the win over Wales and we all are looking forward to Sunday.

All credit to Wales and I think they deserved a penelty try.

  13. yes also as a fellow welshman may i do the same and although i hate to admit it johnny w had a good game but i still hope england loose

  14. RACIST SAD TAFFS!  I CAN GUARANTEE THAT A SIMILAR COMMENT WILL NOT BE USED WHEN ENGLAND BEAT WALES. WHAT IS IT WITH ALL YOU LOT? LOSE THE ANTI ANGLO MENTALITY, YOU ARE JUST FED UP OF LIVING IN ENGLANDS SHADOW AND IT GOES BACK CENTURIES, SO YOU SHOULD BE USED TO IT. AWESOME PERFORMANCE IRELAND BY THE WAY....... U LOT ARE OK.............PROPER CELTS! AND BEFORE ANYONE SAYS OWT........IRISH ANCESTORS!

  15. A BIG THANK YOU!! For your comments about the match yesterday and yes being irish myself(also a big munster fan!!!) i do hope that they go on to win the grand slam aswelll!

As for yesterday Wales played a very exciting and compelling game and they werent disgraced at all and  yes that penalty try should have been awarded...

As for England WELL... as they say in munster 'STAND UP AND FIGHT!!'...

  16. I'm also welsh ,at least we lost to a good team
