May I ask why people do this?

What I would like to to know is why people keep asking the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan. Do they think it makes them look smart or cute or something?

  1. maybe they just dont know.

if you know why do you care so much if someone dont know just tell them whats the difference. its no big deal.

  2. I'm quite clear on the idea that they set out to ask the question because they don't know the answer.  Where I get stuck is when they type in the question and a whole list of similar questions pops up - why not just look at those?

  3. maybe they want to know the difference.idk maybe?! just a guess. they are just plain stupid

  4. I think they're genuinely ignorant.

  5. i wanted to know because there are so many vegetarians and vegans aroud where i live! i like finding out new things and by knwing wat someone is and twhat it means starts up a conversation!

  6. Maybe because they're not all born smart and with the superior intelligence that you obviously have and would like to know.

  7. What I don't understand is why people apparently have never heard of Google, Wikipedia, or Yahoo!, and why they flood this site with questions that are seconds away from clicking a button instead of waiting for people to answer them for it.

  8. maybe they just don't know the difference.

  9. Vegetarian & vegan diet ethics are becoming famous all around the world. People are started to know & pronunce correctly the word "vegan". Many "new comers" are anxious to know more about vegetarianism / veganism.

The most important tool we have in our efforts against cruelty to animals is our positive, sincere, thoughtful example. Looking at the long-term changes in society, we can know that each of us, in our example, actions, attitude—our entire existence— toward our loved ones, persons that we know, and others that we never know, is changing the world. If we could focus all our energies on understanding and outreach,

rather than on anger, the world would be significantly better. Living honestly and compassionately as a vegan is an affirmation of life, a means to fulfillment and joy. These positive aspects of veganism are what we must embrace for ourselves and communicate to others.

  10. It could be they want to know the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan. Just a wild guess.

  11. Lots of folks truly don't know.

What I want to know is how a vegan justifies using insulin from a pig to keep them alive...you know, like the PETA

    PRESIDENT???

  12. Wow, I guess you just must know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING. If you know so much why are you asking questions?

Just trying to look cute or smart or something?

  13. Some people truly don't know the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan. There's never any harm in asking a question, as long as it is done in the right spirit. I never have any problem answering other people's questions about my diet or my beliefs. Otherwise, how will they learn? In order for some people to understand and accept vegetarianism/veganism they must be informed about why we all do what we do.

  14. Some really are so computer dense that they really don't know how to look up how many times that the same question that they have asked has already been asked and answered.

Really no different than people not knowing how to use a search engine to find out information.

  15. Obviously because they don't know the difference.  I am a vegetarian, but I still don't even know the definition of "vegan".  Maybe it's 'cause they don't know.

  16. a surprising amount of people simply don't know.

  17. Because the words sound similar, and because while most people understand what a vegetarian is, most don't know what a vegan is. Or they know that it is more extreme than vegetarianism, but don't know the details.

  18. Not sure. But I know in some of the other "communities" when people ask the same questions over and over again they answer by saying *drink*. It's kind of strange, but it's to inform the person that the question they just asked has been asked many times before and they probably should have looked it up before asking it, because people are sick of answering the same questions. Phew! Hope I helped :)

  19. you would think they would search questions instead of using 5 pts for a new one
