None of us is getting any younger and, having recently been chastised for speaking ill of the dead by telling a few home truths about the late Lady Diana Spencer, I'd like to balance the account with a comment or two about her mother-in-law.

There is however, nothing bad I can find to say about this lady.

She has, from the very beginning of her illustrious reign, behaved in perfect accord with the dignity of her office, while all around her others have let the side down in various ways.

She even survived the appalling situation created by Lady Diana's popularity with the unthinking masses, which obliged her to engage in ridiculous "walkabouts" outside the palace.

Her steadfastly dignified behaviour has been a credit to Great Britain, the British Commonwealth and the concept of monarchy itself. God save Your Majesty!

  1. Sure. Why not ??

  2. Your welcome to the old Bag!

  3. you speak of a woman born into a life of unimaginable wealth, luxury and BIGOTRY...

she comes from a 'dead class' who, whether we want to believe it or not, regard 'her subjects' as 'commoners' but useful, as we bankroll this!

she has brought into this world the biggest bunch of inept individuals ever and she hasn't done half as much for this country as the working class mothers of dockers, miners or any other back breaking job........women born into poverty, raised in poverty and adapting to poverty, women who tended the family for 18hrs a day and would be lucky to see 45 years!

you call it dignity but i call it disdain and detachment....this 'lady' is a parasite and a throwback to days this country should have abandoned decades ago!!

  4. Appreciation for what exactly?  What does the royal family actually do for the benefit of the British people?  The monarchy expects the public to pay for fire damage at properties owned by royalty and what do the people receive in return?  Nothing as far as I can see.  Lady Diana Spencer received more respect for being natural and reaching out to people than any royalty has done, that is why she was so popular.  Quite right you were chastised.

  5. how nice, I agree.

And here is a message to kayla s, this website is not just for Americans, the mention of Great Britian should have given you a clue as to where the questioner lives.

  6. what are walkabouts  why would she have to do them?

  7. queen is sad

  8. Yes we are still British and God Bless Her

  9. WHERE DO YOU LIVE!! WE ANT GOT QUEENS OR KINGS ON NOTHING OF THAT IN AMERICA!!!

  10. yep

  11. Its a matter of TRADITION people. A lot of history in that family. They aren't any better than the rest of us except they have more money. Can't take that with them when we're all dead.

  12. she does nothing anymore anyway she just sits around living off our taxes

  13. Write a letter to the Queen and be most courteous with your expressions. She would appreciate, as anyone would, a lovely letter expressing kindly thoughts toward her. Peace, Love and God Bless.

  14. Now for a little historical context (from a 55-year-old):  Jackie Kennedy, Grace Kelly, and Queen Elizabeth--when I was growing up, Americans kept up with not only American First Ladies but other feminine models of deportment and style, whose lifestyles admittedly were far out of reach for most women.  Nevertheless, many young girls certainly enjoyed seeing the pictures of the Queen and her family in the glossy women's magazines.

Elizabeth came of age during the Post World War II era of stay-at-home wives and mothers; however, she sacrificed family relationships for work--a generation ahead of the curve. Working women everywhere can benefit from her experience as they try to balance family life and career.

  15. God Save Her Majesty!

  16. Ha ha ha ha . Fear of the Tower?

  17. I agree, HRH certainly has my Respect, and, dare I say it, here, my Loyalty, too.

  18. Yes, she had had to live a truly miserable life just to keep some of her serfs happy!

While I can understand the elderly still living in admiration for the majority of the younger there is no place for a monarchy such as this in this day and age.

For a few years, despite the spin from Blair, the UK has been in decline and while the peasants have been suffering not so the house of Mountbatten.

Forget about the referendum on the UE and have one on the future of the most privileged family in the world living in one of the world's most expensive countries!

  19. You may certainly show your appreciation to the queen , whatever floats yer boat mate, just don't expect me to go along with ya!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Go ahead...im not listening....let alone reading any of your question...so go right ahead...

  21. Congratulations James-----well said---a wonderful encomium

  22. are you serious?  oh I get it.  you're part of her household staff aren't you??

I could say a h**l of a lot more, but I simply can't be bothered.  you obviously do not have an open mind so whatever I say you'd ignore any way.

You carry on in your own little world.  I'm sure you're very happy there.

  23. LMAO!!!!
