Temperature is relative. I come from Kansas where I have seen 3-foot snowdrifts and endured temperatures of -10F and worse.

By comparision, I find Manchester winters quite mild. Overnight temperatures rarely go below freezing (32F) and most days it will hit 40F. However, if you're coming from a hot country it will affect you more. Manchester has a low elevation and people talk about 'the cold seeping into their bones' because of the humidity.

Snow is rare in Manchester itself, some winters go by with none at all and at most it might snow three times all winter. Snow rarely sticks and there is never more than an inch. The hills around town see more of it and more often, but the city itself is spared the worst.

Instead there will be lots of cloud and rain, sometimes wind too, but you will never have to worry about frostbite or being snowed in!
