May I please have your opinion on this violin?

Question

I am just beginning to learn the violin, and would like opinions from people who know what they're talking about! (unfortunately, I don't know anybody who knows anything about violins, and my next step is going to a store or something to ask). I found a violin on ebay here;

and am considering buying it. I have many more pictures etc,

Is it an acceptable price? And is it good condition for it's age?

Also, are there any specific questions I should ask the seller?

Oh please, no.  You CANNOT buy a violin for $40.  This is a piece of junk.
