May I use Wikipedia content in my blog without violating the copyright law? How can I do that? Explain in details please.

  1. It depends largely on how you make use of the content. If you simply copy and paste an entire article, you may end up in some hot water.

    If you take small excerpts from the article, and always give reference back to the original in the form of a link and appropriate text, that could be considered "fair use" and you might be OK.


  2. Yes, you may use Wikipedia content, just as you may any other encyclopedia, as long as you cite the source of the information.  If your information comes from Wiki, then you must make clear within the blog that the Wiki is your source.

  3. Put quotation marks around the part you quote, then give the source at either the top or the bottom of the paragraph.
