Question:

May anyone give me a website where I can look at local plumbing codes, building codes and electrical codes?

I don't want any websites where to go buy any code books. I live in United States, California, Reseda.

Please, if anyone can, give me either 2006-2008 codes. Any of those years.

Thank you.

  1. These codes are not free and you won't find them online.

Consult your local library or county code enforcement office.

  2. State, county and municipal electrical codes generally consist of a statement that adopts the National Electrical Code, sometimes with listed additions and exceptions.

NFPA 70: National Electrical Code is available to view but not print. You need to give your email address abdget a password, but there is no charge. Many libraries have copies to check out.

If you want to look at the local code where you live, you may be able to do that at a library. If it is available online, someone at the library may be able to help you find it.

  3. Contact your local town/city hall.  If you're not such which department, start with the Mayor's office and ask to be directed to the proper department.  All of the building codes should be on file at the office from which you would obtain building permits.
