  1. you may not going, but for sure coming back.  the USA does more checking after 911.  Why not call the airlines to ask how and what goes on.

  2. You should probably make sure first. They could add to your charges that you tried to flee the country.

  3. yup, when you come home you'll have to give you drivers license to the customs guy, they'll run you.  what will suck is when they hold you for 3 or 4 days, waiting for the county the warrant is from to come pick you up.  then you'll sit in their cell for 3 or 4 days....i don't think a funeral is worth it.  go handle your business.

  4. If your not sure it's easy enough to check at the nearest police station.

If it turns out you do, chances are you won't be taken into custoday because you were responsible enough to check first. Worst case and you do you can always ask the judge to resked the court appearance because of the death in your family.

  5. yes you will, just skip the funeral and take care of your personal life, it will do society some good :)

  6. You have three choices to make if you do not want to be apprehended.

1:  Stay home and don't go to the funeral.  Keep avoiding the police

    2.  Go to the police station and tell them that you have a warrant against you.... resulting in not going to the funeral.

    3.  Write a long sympathy letter and send it. and chose option 1 or 2 above....the deceased would probably never want you to go to jail even if it was for the funeral to pay respect.

Please chose option 3 and 2.  although it may be a hard decision and may cause others to regret your decision and be mad at you.  I know you must really love and respect the person who died .... and your family that is going to be at the funeral, so do your best with whatever you have to substitute for the missing the the funeral.  In the long run, most everyone will understand if you are sincere for the rest of your life about your choice.

  7. I would call the court and set a date to take care of the warrant I would explain the problems that you are having at this time and try to set a court date for when you return.

  8. Go to your local police or the town/state where you think you have the warrant, get arrested, then ask the judge if you may go to the funeral.Running or going or waiting will only make it worse,my mom had a bench warrant for not appearing in court, she was in a COMA for 11 days, during the court date,,and once the police found out where we lived, they kept not only coming to the house but threating to go to her job at the post office and arrest her. Finally when she was home, and the roommate answered they had the right to search the house, she hid well, they ended up going to her job and she lost it.I would say get it over with now, then you can sleep at night and have peace of mind when your grieving with your family,if u wait it'll only gnaw at you until u take care of it.

  9. If you might have a bench warrant, you had better check into the matter regardless of travel plans.  Not only is that a responsible thing to do, it will help you ease your mind.  Additionally, if you do have a warrant and you attempt to leave the country, this may be viewed as an attempt to flee, which could result in additional problems to the ones you already may have.

I can tell you from the experience of traveling abroad, they check your passport quite frequently, including before you ever leave the country.
