It has been reported that skip carey died tonight in his sleep at age 68.

This truly hurts me, as I am a passionate and dedicated Braves fan and loved hearing skip do radio and tv broadcast.

He has announced Hawks games and Braves games for 33 years.

I will always remember when a foul ball went into the stands every so ofter he will call out where that fan was from,"and a fan from valdosta, ga come up with that one."

Skip you will be missed, r.i.p.

may you pass onto heaven peacefully.

  2. I'm sorry to hear that. I know how you feel. I was really sad after Jack Buck died in 2002. Plus, Darryl Kile's death was just four days later.

    R.I.P. Skip

  3. It hurts me as well  :(   I'm also a very passionate Braves fan. I have listened to Skip Caray call games for the Braves my entire life. I will certainly miss Caray's sense of humor and all the little things that he did that all of us Braves fans came to expect when listening/watching Braves games. I grew up listening to him, and it won't be the same without him   :(   My prayers will be with Chip and Josh and the rest of his family.

Thanks for all these years Skip...you will be missed by many...

    R.I.P.

  18. Good guy.  When TBS was broadcasting the Braves all over the country I got the chance to watch the Braves and listen to the guys in the booth.  They made it fun.  It's always sad to lose good people.  I'm glad he was there for the good years because he paid his dues with some pretty bad years in Atlanta.  R.I.P.
