May you please give me ideas on a 'mystery theme' for kids?

My work (with kids ages 4-12) has theme days, and coming up is our "mystery theme". Could you post some suggestions?

You could do a secret agent theme

You could do something using puzzle pieces-the clues are puzzle pieces and the first person to put their puzzle together by finding all the clues, wins.

You could do a pirate treasure hunt. Or something involving cooking.

I did this once and I had a blast. Set up a fake crime (like murder) and have a sherlock holmes-like character lead you around finding clues. You can add props as you please. Im sure your kids will have a ball. Try it!
