Maya help needed please!?

I have been working on 3ds max for a while, but then I decided to start learning Maya, I just installed Maya so I need the basic steps ( It would be also helpful if you give me some keyboard shorcuts for Maya.

Basic steps to what? Thats a pretty vaque question, and the software is huge!

Maya is huge. I never used 3Ds max but it took me several hours of tutorials to figure out the basics, but I did start from scratch. All the navigation is controlled by the alt button (in windows) and by holding that down you can use your three mouse buttons to rotate (left mouse), pan (middle mouse), and zoom (right mouse). For zoom I prefer a wheel mouse if you have one. Also by holding the space bar you can get a list of commands.

I used Lynda.com and went through the basic tutorial to figure it out for the first time, but digital tutors has more advanced learning that is really helpful. If your cheap, just explore the HELP>maya help (or F1) and scroll through the lists of things from modeling to rendering and more.
