  1. I went there about two years ago it very beautiful and yes you do need  passport because it is outside of the country there is a lot of places to go for activities like isla mujeres its another island that part of Cancun and its just about an hour away you should also try snorkeling Chichén-Itzá it is a place were the Mayans built pyramids and you actually get to climb up the huge pyramids its very amazing you should go around and explore in many places they offer you tours like in your hotel or ask. in the tours they take you sightseeing and many other things. xel -ha is another place you get to go swimming in caves and a great place to snorkel to.

  2. Bring Passport, Bring mucho dinero...

  3. hello,

well...the good thing is obvious: the trip is free.the bad thing is: the mayan palace is NOT an all-inclusive hotel with the worst location possible.their restaurants are excellent but very, and i mean VERY expensive...but ever since the hotel is pretty much located in the middle of nowhere you don't have no other choise than paying it.you can drop the bill by 20% if you attend to their timeshare sales-presentation...they give you the discount as a "gift".just don't fall for the "membership" otherwise it will be a lifetime bill you have to pay.lots of the units are equipt with a kitchen so you can take a cap to playa del carmen and go grocery in wal-mart.even there is still a lot of construction going on the hotel is nice and big.the pool-area is the largest one i have ever seen.the beach isn't bad but the entrance to the ocean is rocky.if you want a nice beach with the most beautiful carribean sea you have ever seen take a cap to "mamitas beach" in playa del carmen.it's crowded but it's lots of fun with nice (and gorgeous) people from all over the world.when it comes to excursions it is very difficult to recommend one or the other cause everybody has a different taste.all these mayan-ruins for example...they don't give me anything...old stones in the humid nowhere.there is sooo much information about all the things to do in the main lobby of the hotel...you can make up your mind as soon as you are here.also visit the page at the bottom...it contains lots of information about the hotel, area, excursions, restaurants, bars and so on.

have fun and enjoy your time here,

    greetings from playa del carmen,

    cancundivers

please excuse my english and any misspelling...i'm german.

  4. yes its beautiful..i was born in Mexico. if you go to the Rivera Maya be sure to visit Xel-ha( a national park where you can snorkel, or just spend the day) also go to akumal, this isn't a place to party allot, but its gorgeous. if you really want night life go to playa del Carmen..its full of it :) yes, you might need a passport, just in case. i hope you have a nice trip!
