Maybe a DNS issue?

Question

Okay, I didn't change anything either software or hardware wise, but for the last few days my computer will not find internet addresses. Here are some symptoms:

1) It can still connect to the rest of my local network

2) none of my other computers are having problems

3) a restart fixes the problem sometimes, but only for a short while.

4) If run ipconfig it can renew and address and find the gateway just fine.

I'm thinking some weird DNS issue or maybe I need a new network card?

Anyone?

Hard to say for sure. Your best bet is to troubleshoot the problems when you're having them. Ping/traceroute/nslookup tests etc. See if you can narrow it down.

Try using an external nic and see if the problem goes away.
