Mayo Mystique hot favourite for Thetote.com Beginners Chase (Mares)
Mayo Mystique has been rated as hot favourite for Thetote.com Beginners Chase (Mares) at Clonmel in Ireland on Thursday, April 5, 2012. The triumphant runner will be awarded with a cash prize of €5,520 in the end.
A total of eight runners have been attracted towards the 2 mile 1 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 5:55 GMT, and their names are as follows: Mayo Mystique, Fantastic Gold, Derryvale Rose, Twin Plan, Maple Valley Gale, Play The Wing, Sure Thyne
and Imaculate Rose.
Out of the above mentioned runners, Mayo Mystique seems to be in the best shape to win the race. This is why the bookies have given her pretty decent odds and the punters will also be placing a lot of bets in favour of her victory.
The eight-year-old mare has entered seven chase races, winning none of them until now. However she has managed to finish runner up on a couple of occasions and took the third spot on a three occasions.
P. J. Rothwell’s trained runner has been performing well in recent times as well, which would have boosted her confidence to a great extent. She finished runner up in her most recent run and it will be hard for the rest of the runners to stop her from winning
the race.
The eight-year-old mare will be ridden by young jockey, D. J. Bates, who is yet to make an impression in his career. He has a very good chance of winning his first ever chase event.
On the other hand, Fantastic Gold will also be a strong contender for winning the race, as she is a quality runner. She has the tools to deliver stronger results, but will need a confidence booster to perform with consistency.
The six-year-old mare has never taken part in chase races, thus the bettors will be hesitant over risking money on her. Her recent form has also dipped badly, which indicates that she will struggle to match her rivals.
M. O. Cullinane’s trained mare will be ridden by E. J. O'Connell, who is yet to make a name for himself in the sport.
It appears that Mayo Mystique will manage to win the race comfortably, as the rest of her rivals are not in good rhythm at the moment.
