this smacks of a statement rather than a question. i'm a yank and don't follow london politics. not that close but somewhat. i like tony blair and hope the new guy is as good. now, being a mayor of any large city is most difficult. we who aren't there can't imagine what it's like when all the earth's forces come rushing at you with no where to run.  by the way, he got in by someone voting for him, right?  was he the choice or the best of the worst lot?  years ago we in nyc had voted for john lindsey. i'm ashamed to say twice. he was the worst, ever but we do have to have the crud before we can appreciate the cream!
