Mayors in Big Cities get paid a salary?

Do mayors and council members for metropolitan/big cities such as San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, New York get paid? Because the ones for smaller cities do not as they’re doing this as goodwill for the city/town they live in.

Mayors in small cities, large towns, even small towns get paid. They get paid more if the municipality is larger, as the job is tougher. So big-city mayors get big money. Yes, in some very small towns they don't get paid, but that is the exception, not the rule.
