Mays Bonus dominant in the Betfred.Com 480M Trophy at Nottingham on 2nd April
The Betfred.Com 480M Trophy would be staged at Nottingham over 480 metres flat on Monday, 2nd April.
Taking part in the £200 prize money event is:
Mays Bonus,
Ambleside Al,
Mottos Blue,
Sauvage Summer,
Bower Laramie, and
Lewcas Lightning.
The strongest candidate among the line-up is Mays Bonus, Last Bid’s two-year-old white and black daughter out of Magpie Tango.
Trained by F. Lenton, Mays Bonus was first drilled over 420 metres at Peterborough on 12th January, before her seasonal debut. She raced through the distance in 25.70 seconds.
Her seasonal debut translated into a victory when she covered the 420 metres track in 25.59 seconds, leading by a good 8 ¼ lengths on 19th January at Peterborough. The runner-up of the race was Gracies Magic.
What began as a seasonal debut success resulted in a winning streak that was stretched to three more victories, totalling four.
The next victory followed on 26th January at Peterborough over 420 metres, a distance that she settled in 25.85 seconds.
News Reporter, the runner up caught on to the winner after covering the gap of two lengths.
Striking a hat-trick, Mays Bonus won a 420 metres race at Peterborough on 11th February by clocking the distance in 25.71 seconds, ahead of the runner-up, Ballybunion Ace, by 2 ¾ lengths.
The fourth episode of the winning series surfaced on 18th February at Wimbledon over 480 metres, which Mays Bonus concluded in 28.80 seconds.
The fourth victory was not as easy as the rest because the difference between the winner and the runner-up, Boxie, was just half a length.
Surprisingly, Mays Bonus stumbled quite miserably in the next two starts, which were not even anywhere near the winnings that she had been accumulating.
She posted a sixth and then a fourth position in the next two races that came her way.
On 26th March, Mays Bonus came back into her winning form as she won the William Hill 480M Maiden Trophy by timing the 480 metres distance in 29.12 seconds and was at a shoulder’s margin from the 8/11 favourite, runner-up, Mottos Blue.
The two will encounter each other today again.
