Mays Millhouse holds highest starting price for IRS Direct Dog & Bone Cup at Oxford
Mays Millhouse has been given the highest odds for the IRS Direct Dog & Bone Cup, to be held at Oxford on Thursday, April 05. The 595 metres flat heat is scheduled to begin at 20:45 GMT.
It is a Grade OR event, in which six quality runners will pursue a cash prize of £150. The names of the contenders are: Mays Millhouse, Afan Hawk, Dippy Boy, Westmead Palace, Amazon Warrior and Ballymac Nap.
Mays Millhouse was quite impressive in his last two races. After grabbing a forceful victory on March 22, the black dog maintained good standards to secure runner-up slot in his most recent outing.
Since he got crowded in the middle, it was not possible for the hound to challenge the winner last time around. G. Ballentine’s trainee needs to learn a lesson from his previous mistake and come up with an improved show today.
Out of others, Afan Hawk is being considered as dangerous. The black and white dog broke the shackles on March 29, when he secured top position by 2¾ lengths. His good performance came after a few poor shows in early March.
Afan Hawk’s penultimate performance was disappointing, as the dog completed the order of finish. The son of Westmead Hawk is currently feelings great after a recent success and therefore, his name cannot be overlooked.
Dippy Boy is another powerful hound, who might spring up a surprise. The black dog did a fine job last month, sealing two straight victories. The latest of his triumphs came on March 22, when he seized top position by 6¾ lengths.
After a couple of fascinating acts, the hound was expected to complete his hat-trick in style. But he was unable to perpetuate his good work, ending up fifth on the chart last time around.
Amazon Warrior is also coming into this race after a classy victory. The spectators at Harlow saw him beating Swift Tricia by three and a quarter lengths on March 30.
Mays Millhouse is a safe option for the punters. Yet, his chances to win are not hundred percent, as Afan Hawk and Dippy Boy might create an upset. We wish best of luck to everyone.
