Mayson expected to thrive in Totepool Stakes
Mayson is expected to unleash a magnificent run and finish first in the Duke Of York Totepool Stakes (Group 2) race that will go down at York track on Wednesday, May 16. The action will commence at 3:00 (GMT).
On the good course of 6 furlongs, the Richard Fahey-trained bay colt will face 13 strong rivals including Definightly, Doncaster Rover, Elnawin, Hoof It, Libranno, Sirius Prospect, Society Rock, Soul, The Cheka, Tiddliwinks, Bannock, Bogart and Restiadargent.
The winner will be awarded a cash prize of £60,481.
Mayson is on a hat-trick at the moment, the four-year-old experienced sprinter elegantly won a race each on April 19 and May 5, 2012. Prior to this, the brilliant runner had gained a third on March 31.
Overall, the brilliant son of Invincible Spirit out of Mayleaf has won 4 of his total 14 starts so far. Currently, he is carrying immense winning momentum that will help him thrive in today’s mega marathon.
Despite being a non-favourite runner, Mayson will surely dominate his competitors convincingly. If he runs to his best and avoids making any error on the track, he will have up to 93 percent chances to finish first in the Stakes.
Almost equally capable to Mayson is Elnawin who is also on the verge of a hat-trick. The Richard Hannon-trained bay gelding finished first in each of the last two races of his career during May-June 2011. As a whole, he has won 6 of his total 18 races to
date.
This horse can pose a big threat to Mayson and the fight between the duo will be fantastic to watch.
Hoof It will also struggle well for success. Michael Easterby’s bay gelding holds the highest odds in the betting market. After bagging a couple of consecutive triumphs in June 2011, the maverick runner clinched a 6th and a 3rd spot
in the two subsequent races.
Sirius Prospect will also show a decent run in the race. Thus, there will be a rip-roaring clash today. Let us see who manages to thrive. Good luck to all the runners.
