Mayson likely to prevail in the Pearl Bloodstock Palace House Stakes at Newmarket
Newmarket will host the Class 1 Pearl Bloodstock Palace House Stakes (Group 3) on 5th May, 2012. An exciting event which is highly anticipated, as eighteen runners will be competing for the purse of £31,191 over a distance of
five furlongs.
With such an extensive line-up, the top contenders are hard to pick, but it seems that Eton Rifles and Mayson are the ones who will bring the most heat to the track.
Eton Rifles, son of Pivotal, out of Maritsa, does not lack in experience and ability. Since, his career began he has performed well and managed solid placed finishes.
The bay gelding scored the first victory of his career on 20th September, 2008, under rider, Paul Mulrennan, where he took the lead and defeated, Somerset Falls, by an immense margin of eight lengths.
Currently trained by Stuart Williams, the gelding was trained by two different trainers before him.

Over the course of his career, he landed the victory six times and will be aiming to seize another one today. Among those six victories, he raced five times as the favourite because of his market popularity.
The Eton Riflemen owned bay gelding will be racing in his seasonal debut today, and will enter the race from post 16.
Mayson, the trainee of Richard Fahey who is under the ownership of David W. Armstrong, is likely to stir up some attention today, mainly because of his past three performances where he stood first, second and third.
The four-year-old colt fell a neck behind, Sirius Prospect, in the Betfred 1350 Shops Nationwide Wentworth Stakes at Doncaster in November 2011, where he was the mount of Paul Hanagan.
The bay colt stood third in his seasonal debut, as he lost by 2 ¾ lengths to winner, The Cheka, in the New William Hill iPhone App Cammidge Trophy at the same venue on 31st March, 2012.
With all his effort, the son of Invincible Spirit, out of mare Mayleaf, succeeded over the Clive Cox trained, Jimmy Styles, by 3 ½ lengths in the Connaught Access Flooring Abernant Stakes at Newmarket on 19th April, 2012, where
he was mounted by rider, Paul Hanagan.
It is difficult to determine the potential winner, but Mayson looks in good form based on his performances.

Keeping in mind the victory he scored at Newmarket earlier this season, the odds will definitely work in his favour today. Eton Rifles might finish closely behind him as a runner-up.
