Maytag (MDB-1) Dishwasher Controls blinking

Question

Dear Expert,

Every once a while, my dishwasher electroonic control lights blink intermittently. The "CLEAN", "HEAVY WASH' and "HEATED DRY" lights blink simultaneously at 1 second intervals: between these intervals, the "SANITIZE" light goes on for a split second. When this happens, none of the controls disactivate the disabled appliance. In the past, I have been lucky to hold or press buttons in such a sequence that cancels the blinking and reset the dishwasher. I was wondering if you could provide assistance as the manual guide does not make any reference whatsoever to this type of problem.
